Maria Bonita, the "beautiful Mary", whose real name was Maria Déia, was the companion of the legendary bandit Virgulino Ferreira da Silva, known as "Lampião". Their story and especially their love is part of the folklore of the Brazilian "Nordeste". For almost 10 years the couple of outlaws lived in the middle of the "Caatinga", a thorny vegetation that characterizes the very dry area of the Brazilian Sertão. This region is the backdrop of a love story that will end tragically - in 1938 - during a battle with the Brazilian army. The Maria Bonita restaurant, by taking images and impressions from an emotionally rich past, wants to reproduce this lesser known side of Brazil and make you love it. It is our ambition to become your restaurant, the place where not only you will eat well, but also the privileged place where you will feel at home and become an integral and unconditional part of the Brazilian universe that is dear to us. The lunch formula will be based on the very Brazilian principle of "akilo". It is a sumptuous buffet formula where the client can help himself to as many of the dishes as he wants and has his plate weighed at each service. In the evening, the restaurant becomes a churrascaria, i.e. a rotisserie. The rodizio that is served on this occasion is the pinnacle of Brazilian gastronomy in terms of quality and quantity. A buffet of appetizers will whet everyone's appetite. The meats that will be served afterwards will make you want to come back.
