Creole•$$
Chapter IV Restaurant and Bar features breakfast, brunch and lunch service in downtown New Orleans. Opened in 2023, by Chef Dook Chase and his wife, Gretchen, Chapter IV features a modern take on classic Creole dishes passed down from Chef Dook's grandmother, the late Chef Leah Chase. Chapter IV is named for Dook being fourth generation of his family, and this being fourth restaurant under his operation. Chef Dook trained for a lifetime under his grandmother, but he was also classically trained at Le Cordon Bleu Paris. Both the food and the atmosphere at Chapter IV represent a refined ode to the classics; all inspired by a legacy of service and promotion of the arts. Set in the former site of the historic Warwick Hotel, now Tulane University's newest residential development Thirteen15, Chapter IV was designed in classic mid-century modern style, consistent with the era of its former glory. The walls of Chapter IV are reminiscent of a gallery, filled with art by acclaimed African American artists. The stories behind each piece are colorful and the intention behind choosing them specific; together they tell a story of generational growth. We welcome you in for an experience sure to please all your senses!
