Since 2001, the iconic Clinton St. Baking Co. & Restaurant has grown a devotional worldwide following for its American-eclectic eats on the Lower East Side. Decadent dishes like fluffy pancakes, Mexican eggs benedict, buttermilk fried chicken and grass-fed burgers are cult favorites, washed down with spicy bloody Marys, boozy milkshakes and craft beer. Husband and wife owners are Chef Neil Kleinberg and DeDe Lahman. They use local products from purveyors they know and trust including sustainable coffee, premium ice cream, cage free poultry & eggs, and heritage pork. Almost everything on the menu is made in-house using classic, traditional techniques from raspberry jam and thick brioche to corn tortillas and habanero hot sauce. The restaurant is sunny and bright by day and cozy by night. You’ll feel welcomed by its long time work “family” — some have logged over 15 years on staff. With locations in Japan, Thailand, Singapore and Dubai, Clinton Street has achieved true global fame. And while the lore about its brunch lines are true, dinner is the insider time to visit this spot, when lights are low and the crowds calm. Save room for dessert! All cakes and pies are handmade in small batches on site.
