Outerlands is a gathering place nestled on the city's salty fringe, serving locally sourced, organic fare in a warm, convivial setting. It's a restaurant created with a distinct purpose to enliven the sustainable food movement within the ocean-side neighborhood of the outer sunset and create a hub for the many families, craftspeople, and surfers outdoorsy/outdoor-oriented people who live and work there. The handcrafted interior is designed in homage to the surrounding landscape — subtle curves recall the ocean's lapping waters; the grays, bleached whites and browns of weathered paneling lend a cozy, rustic ambiance.
