Inspired by the aesthetics of Wes Anderson’s films, Bar Mordecai is styled after hotel lobby bars of yore. The menu features nostalgic, creative takes on lobby bar staples. The drinks list features a selection of local and international beer and thoughtfully chosen wines by the glass or bottle. The cocktail menu riffs on classics, as well as refreshing originals. The talented kitchen team is led by Chef Maria Arispe, featuring Bahraini-Canadian dishes from designed by Chef Suman Ali. There are delicious options for a variety of dietary requirements including vegan and gluten free. Bar Mordecai is a multifaceted venue with a second downstairs bar as well as four private party rooms featuring karaoke capability. From October 16th to 31st, Bar Mordecai's downstairs space will be host to the Halloween-themed Black Lagoon pop-up. This will be open Sunday through Wednesday from 6 pm to 12 am, and Thursday through Saturday from 6 pm to 2 am. Aside from karaoke room bookings, Black Lagoon is walk-in only. All "dining" reservations made through this platform will only guarantee you a table on the main floor of Bar Mordecai.
