After spending eight years in the Marine Corps and another eight in the restaurant industry, Patrice Cleary opened her own restaurant to share her mother's recipes along with the comfort food enjoyed by her family. In a 2015 review, Tom Sietsema of the Washington Post demonstrates the restaurant's authenticity: "Staff at the Philippine Embassy come here for a taste of home."
