Female Founders in Art, Business, and Community Development

Join us for a lively discussion on the roles of women in art, business, and community development. When women win, we all win! Enjoy heavy appetizers and beverages from FogRose and meet our featured guest speakers and female founders. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the National Association of Asian American Professionals, Seattle Chapter, to benefit various community programs. Panel Speakers:Julie Yuan-Ru Hsieh, MD, is the founder and director of Yuan Ru Art Center in Bellevue, with a sister gallery in Taipei. Although Julie's first career was in medicine as a family physician—receiving a Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University and a medical doctorate from Baylor College of Medicine—creative arts has always played a significant role in her identity. She has been in the art field since 2017 as an artist, collector, and gallerist. My-Linh Thai is the first refugee elected to serve in the Washington State House of Representatives. After graduating from the UW School of Pharmacy, she worked as a King County patient health advocate and medical interpreter. Since elected to the State Legislature (2018), My-Linh has worked tirelessly on ensuring Washingtonians have equitable access to healthcare, protected reproductive rights, and safe and thriving communities.Quyen Dang is the Founder of FogRose, an afternoon tea, dessert, and catering company with a unique focus on client service. Quyen has over 15 years of experience in consulting, project management, team building, marketing, and business development in multiple sectors; including engineering, hospitality, and non-profit. Susan Walker is an exhibiting artist. She has a BFA in Studio Art from the University of California, Davis. She later completed a two-year Certificate Program at the University of Washington in Drawing & Painting.
