Originally from Irapuato, Guanajuato, Don José Vieyra and Doña María Robles arrived in Mexicali in 1935, to work in the cotton field.With love and passion when cooking, Doña María developed her great seasoning and flavor in each of the recipes on her menu.They started with a food stand in "La Chinesca". Their success was so great and they were sure that their customers would continue to prefer them, they decided to continue in their garage where they installed their first dining room.In 1945, they built a building especially for the restaurant, located on Arista and G Street, Col. Nueva, which they inaugurated as Cenaduría Selecta.In November 1989, it marked a new era for Cenaduría Selecta, with a remodeling that preserved the original atmosphere and included top-notch modern architectural elements.The second generation continues with her legacy, preserving the delights of Doña María's recipes, with much effort and dedication, at the service of the Mexicali people.
