    Sunday, November 24th - ”Brock, Lanzetti, Ogawa” of Snarky Puppy

    Brock, Lanzetti, Ogawa is the moniker for a new trio whose members are widely known through their association with the jazz-funk group Snarky Puppy. Zach Brock (4 and 6 string violins), Bob Lanzetti (acoustic and electric guitars), and Keita Ogawa (percussion) create in the spaces between jazz, folk, experimental, ambient, groove, and world music. Their debut album entitled Drawing Songs was released on November 10, 2023 by GroundUp Music.

    Sunday, November 1st - Sinkane

    Sinkane, the moniker of multi-instrumentalist and music director Ahmed Gallab, has made his magnum opus. Born in London to Sudanese parents, raised in Ohio, and now calling NYC home, the former skate punk turned afro-funk maestro and veteran of indie-rock bands like Caribou, Yeasayer and Of Montreal has spent the years since his previous release, Dépaysé, honing in on his skillset to unfurl a truly ambitious new album. On his to-be-announced 8th studio album We Belong, Gallab has found himself celebrating the love he has unearthed in these explorations, and Sinkane has been born anew. The record will be release in Spring 2024.

    Thursday, October 10th - SPLIT BILL: Kim Anderson | Molly Tigre

    Kim Anderson is a composer, songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist based out of upstate New York. Her music walks the line between many genres, incorporating the lyrical intimacy of folk songs with carefully crafted instrumental arrangements. Her debut album ‘Yarrow’, an intimate collection of electro-acoustic songs backed by delicate string and woodwind arrangements, was produced by Benjamin Lazar Davis and released on Biophilia records in 2018. Her sophomore album ‘Asphodel’ (also produced by Davis) is a collection of wildly eclectic original songs inspired by myths of different cultures around the world. It was released in 2023 on Sempervirens Studios.Molly Tigre marries the rhythms and melodies of African music with a uniquely progressive and exploratory jazz sound. Featuring the compositions of Mitch Marcus and bassist Ezra Gale (Super Hi-Fi, Aphrodesia), the band also features saxophonist Chris Hiatt (Japonize Elephants), drummer Joe Abba, and percussionists Kolipe Camara (Djembe, Shekere) and Mamadou Konate (Talking Drum).

His teaching and creation of Hot Licks Video pioneered music and guitar education all over the world, and his videos have sold in excess of 2.5 million copies. His current online lessons and blogs for Gibson.com have over 1 million followers! Arlen was also the man behind the legendary Blues film, Crossroads, creating the guitar parts, directing the guitar scenes, and working alongside Ry Cooder and Ralph Macchio for seven months in Mississippi and in L.A. He was voted in the Top 50 Acoustic Guitarists of All-Time by Gibson.com, and in the Top 100 Most Influential Guitarists of All-Time by Vintage Guitar Magazine. He has 8 best-selling books to his credit, and his book Hot Guitar, is a compilation of 10 years of his wildly popular column for Guitar Player Magazine of the same name.
