A typical carioca house, Palace is the most traditional steakhouse in the city, founded in 1951 in the ever effervescent Copacabana. It was born together with bossa-nova and the carioca spirit of being. It is internationally famous for its carvery, which includes noble meats, seafood and fish. Among the meats, the highlights are the picanha butterfly - cut created by Palace in the 80s, the palette of lamb to the Douro and the prime rib. Its sushi bar, with sashimis, hots and temakis, is also a house brand, a pioneer in the introduction of Japanese in rotisserie-style barbecues. A varied salad buffet complements the gastronomic journey, where fresh oysters, cod, fish stew, paella and a selection of cheeses and cold cuts are found daily.
