Brevard Whiskey Club Presents: Jack Daniel’s Operation Ride Home

Hello Everyone! My name is Steven Laws, I’m the Beverage Director for The Cotton Room at Belfast Mill. It’s October which means it’s officially SPOOKY SEASON and we will be decorating the bar soon! On another note, this month’s Whiskey Club will be in collaboration with Jack Daniel’s and Operation Ride Home. Operation Ride Home is a program designed to assist junior-enlisted service members and those with families travel from their military bases to homes around the country. Jack Daniel’s aims to raise as much money as possible to assist these heroes with getting home. We will be premiering 4 of Jack Daniel’s Select Whiskies for this club: - Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Select: Bottled at 94 Proof, this whiskey has subtle notes of Caramel and spice with bright fruit notes and sweet aromatics. - Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Rye: This is Jack Daniels first new grain bill since prohibition. Bottled at 94 proof with a 70% rye grain bill, this whiskey has complex flavors of ripe fruit mingled with light toasted oak notes, and a spicy finish. - Jack Daniel’s Bonded: Jacks Classic Old No. 7 recipe meets the bottle in bond act for a whiskey with big, bold flavors of Roasted Pecans, Vanilla, and Banana. - Jack Daniel’s Bonded Rye: A new bottled in bond rye whiskey bringing balance and boldness with flavors of zesty baking spices, chocolate, and oak. Brevard Whiskey Club Presents: Whiskey Around The World (FREE CLASS)

Hello Everyone! My name is Steven Laws, I’m the Beverage Director for the Cotton Room at Belfast Mill and for this month’s whiskey club we will be offering a free class as a thank you for your continued patronage, we couldn’t do it without yall! We will be partnering with Diageo to offer a “whiskies around the world” based whiskey club. This Whiskey club will have us comparing/contrasting different genres of whiskey and talk about what makes each different category unique with some of the most recognized brands in the world. Also, we will have a special pour at the end of the class (tease, tease, I know). Tennessee Whisky (George Dickel Recipe No.12): Taking inspiration from the whisky made by George A. Dickel in the 1860’s, this Tennessee whisky has a deep, assertive flavor that many consider to be the gold standard of Tennessee whisky. Notes of dark fruit, vanilla, butter, and rich oak. Bourbon (Bulleit Bourbon): Inspired by an old family recipe from 150 years ago. A combination of rye, corn, and barley malt leads way to a high rye bourbon with notes of maple, oak, and toffee. Canadian Whisky (Crown): Originally crafted for the visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1939 this blended whisky has hints of oak, butterscotch, clove, and nutmeg. Irish Whiskey (Roe and Co): George Roe and Co helped to build the golden era of Irish whiskey in the 19th century. This revived distillery now neighbors Guinness in Dublin and its modern recipe pays homage to the original. Notes of soft spice, mellow sugar, and pear with a light creaminess. Scotch Whisky (Johnny Walker Black): John Walker was born in 1805 and operated a grocery where eventually he began blending his own whiskey after being displeased with the whiskies being produced during the time. Black label is a masterful blend of single malt and grain whisky that sits for 12 years. The result is deep layers of sweet fruit, spice, and vanilla- all wrapped in a cloak of smoke. Sláinte! Can’t wait to see you soon!
