Casa Fernández began its activity in May 1989, at the gates of the Barcelona Olímpica, on Santaló street, under the name of Real Compañía Cervecera Casa Fernández. Javier de las Muelas honors his mother, with this restaurant, because Fernández is his last name; and that all of Barcelona knows as Casa Fernández. Those were years when tapas were limited to the most maritime part of the city, tapas full of tradition that in the upper area, and thanks to Casa Fernández, they acquired a cosmopolitan and eclectic character by merging with the gastronomy of other cultures. Twenty-five years later, Casa Fernández is renewed but remains faithful to its philosophy, offering a new concept of tapas prepared with top quality products in a relaxed and happy atmosphere. The menu is now enriched with new dishes and a renewed decoration in which paintings by important artists take center stage along with the color of the establishment.
