Bar Shiru is the Bay Area's first hi-fi vinyl listening bar. We feature (mostly) jazz, soul and afrobeat records, played in their entirety on a fully analog, audiophile sound system in a space built with acoustics as a top priority.Seating is strictly limited to groups of 6 or less and available on a first come, first serve basis.     Silent Sunday

    Join us for Silent Sunday, a deep-listening and zero-talking experience at Bar Shiru happening one Sunday each month from 3-6pm. Don't miss this unique opportunity to enjoy our sound system in its all its analog, tube-driven glory. There will be some time before and after the featured albums to mingle and chat, but once the needle drops, the talking stops.On Sunday October 27th, we'll be showcasing two of the finest albums of the past decade. Kendrick Lamar's 2015 "To Pimp A Butterfly" and SAULT's 2020 "Untitled (Black Is)" both offer scathing indictments of the racial dynamics of present day USA and do so with a musical and lyrical vocabulary that is as searing as it is thrilling. As we gear up for the final stretch before election day, join us for an afternoon of protest music. We'll have a limited menu of highballs, wine, beer and spirit pours available for purchase, aka drinks we can make QUIETLY ;). Seating is first come, first serve and communal to maximize the number of people that can attend. *You may transfer your reservation if plans change, but reservation fees are non-refundable.

    Large Party Booking for 7-14

    Host a gathering for 7-14 people at Bar Shiru! In addition to the $100 non-refundable booking fee, a $25 per person bar minimum applies (plus tax/gratuity). PLEASE READ BOOKING POLICIES CAREFULLY:- Your reservation is for 2 hours. We stop taking orders 30m prior to the end of your reservation.- The bar minimum is based on the number of guests specified in your booking. Any attempts to exceed party size may result in cancellation without refund.- A single credit card is required for your tab.- The host must arrive within 10m of booking time or we reserve the right to cancel without refund.- No outside food or drink.- Please let us know if anyone in your party has mobility issues.
