At the end of 2011, three big names from Rio de Janeiro tables joined forces (and dreams) and inaugurated the Bottega del Vino in the iconic Rua Dias Ferreira. Seven years, many gifts and a Bib Gourmand Michelin recommendation later, Nicola Giorgio and Dionisio Chaves (Duo, Uniko, Café de La Musique) and Eduardo Preciado (Minimok, Pabu Izakaya), always in constant search for improvements, decided to challenge themselves in a complete house remodeling. The project has advanced so much and so many ideas have been made that even the name has changed! That was how Gusto Cucina e Bar was born, a restaurant with Italian DNA, a relaxed community table in the lounge and an industrial atmosphere. Less wine, more cocktails To operate the new bar, the old crazies of the Rio de Janeiro cocktail party, Alex Miranda and Lello Forti join the trio as partners, bringing their brand, Mixxing, stamped next to the restaurant's name. "Ten years ago we said that one day we would do something together. Finally the time has come!", Celebrates Eduardo. The old bar, by the way, will occupy the back of the house and the new Gusto will have a large lounge facing the sidewalk, an old request of the clientele, reveals the architect Ricardo Guimarães, author of the project. "Modern and exquisitely executed mixology is a growing demand, so we chose to have a lean and efficient wine list", says Chaves, the group's award winning somelier partner. The works start in the first week of February and the opening, mid-March. On the menu, the author and the classic will guide the footprint. Pasta made at home will not be lacking. Seasonal ingredients will inspire recipes that will feature on a large chalkboard. "We want to surprise you with quality and good prices", promises Nicola Giorgio, from the height of his 36 years of experience in the salons. The gastronomy sector is reinventing itself, discarding worn beliefs and bets. The proposal of Gusto Cucina e Bar is to bring joy with good music and excellent cuisine and cocktails. "Our pretension is to delight and serve, all of this in a very uplifting atmosphere", philosophizes Preciado
