Reservations can be made on Resy, with additional availability offered through OpenTable. As you step into our Upper East Side restaurant, Cafe d'Alsace, you'll be transported to the charming region of Alsace with its rich history and culinary traditions. Our third-generation French chef, Philippe Roussel, began his culinary journey under the guidance of his father, a renowned chef and restaurateur. After graduating from the École Hôtelière in Rennes, Chef Roussel apprenticed at several prestigious restaurants in France, including the three-star Michelin restaurant Troisgros, where he trained under Great Chef Michel Troisgros. In 1986, Chef Daniel Boulud invited him to work as a chef de partie at Le Regence in New York City, and soon after, Chef Guérard requested that Chef Roussel return to France and work under him. Chef Roussel's passion for food and creativity are evident in his dishes, which include classic Alsatian specialties like the savory tarte flambé, Choucroute Garnie, and the hearty Alsatian casserole known as Baeckeoffe. Our beverage program is just as impressive, with our beer sommelier, Justin Fair, curating a list of over 130 beers that balances rare and imported selections with artisanal and small-batch offerings from local brewers. And of course, our celebrated wine list is also not to be missed. At Cafe d'Alsace, we take pride in our exceptional service, unique atmosphere, and a food and beverage program that has earned us a loyal following among foodies and locals alike for over a decade. We can't wait to welcome you into our family soon!
