Uncle Ted’s is not like any other Chinese restaurant out there. It’s safe to say that when we burst onto the scene back in 2013, New York City had seen nothing like us. Founder Ted Chang’s whole ethos was to create a restaurant that would bring the west village neighborhood together and remind New Yorkers about how incredible Chinese food can be. That’s why when tragedy struck in 2021, the restaurant under new management by the Mogao group decided that we must reopen and keep the great tradition of stellar food and service alive for our beloved patrons who over the years have in many instances become close friends. Prepare yourself New York as we’ve just reopened a stones-throw away from NYU. At our restaurant you will be able to eat amazing dishes like Crispy pepper Chicken, Double cooked pork, Cumin mutton and our absurdly delicious House fried rice. In creating our menu we’ve retained the best of the past and augmented it with a host of new dishes that are sure to wow one’s palate. To us we see an opportunity in everything we do to hold fast to Chinese traditional cooking methods whilst infusing American taste profiles into the mix, the result being nothing short of addictive. Our rabid Chinese and American patrons are proof of that. So as we embark on this new chapter come join us for an incredible meal, with ingredients that have been hand sourced by us. With a wine and cocktail list that has been expertly curated to satisfy and challenge even the most discerning of diners. If you want to book us for a private party or have an event that needs to be catered, feel free to contact us. Uncle Ted’s warmly welcomes you back.
