The name Wau is inspired by the intricate Malaysian moon-kite of the same name, often decorated with beautiful floral designs. Flown in celebration of a bountiful harvest, Wau are symbolic of beauty, grace and good fortune. A much-anticipated occasion, the flying of the Wau offered an opportunity for padi planters and farmers in the field to take a break and observe the beauty of these handmade kites. At Wau, our team are looking to offer a similar experience to diners—a respite from the busyness of everyday life and a comforting oasis that celebrates culture, tradition and lift your spirits as high as a kite reaching for the moon. Sitting Plan: 1. Indoor ( for party of 2 up, max 15 ppl ) 2. Bar (for party 1 up, max sitting 10ppl, walk-in only, first come first serve) 3. Patio - Semi Outdoor (For party 2 and up, Max sitting 25 ppl, semi-closed, has window, heater in each side wall, please see picture ) Operation Hours : LUNCH Monday - Friday: 12PM - 3:30PM DINNER Monday - Thursday: 5PM - 10PM (No show fee $5/person- only for party up to 5ppl) Friday: 5PM - 10:30PM (No show fee $10/person) Saturday: 12PM - 10:30PM (No show fee $10/person) Sunday: 12PM - 9:30PM (No show fee $5/person- only for party up to 5ppl) Reservations for up to 6 guests can be made online for parties up to 6 guests. For parties of 7 guests or more, please call us during our hours of operation at (917) 261-5926. Walk-ins are always welcome as we have a few tables and bar seats available.
