    Introduction to Farming at SingleThread Farm

    Our Introduction to Farming workshop provides an opportunity to learn about, take part in and discuss the many practices that go into growing food and flowers here at Single Thread Farms. This three hour workshop will take participants on a journey from seed to harvest, examining the how's and why's of our approach to farming and the ethos behind it. In addition to hands on activities, topics of discussion will include greenhouse best practices, hand tool use, soil fertility and regeneration, pest management, harvest techniques and field skills such as transplanting, pruning and trellising.

    Autumn Equinox Celebration with Canyon Ranch

    Join us on September 22nd from 10:00- 3:00pm on the farm as we celebrate the fall equinox with Canyon Ranch! This marks a time of abundance, a balance between light and darkness, and a grounding from summer's energy. We're thrilled to partner with Canyon Ranch, a pioneer in the wellness space whose commitment to sustainability aligns with our own, to honor this season of reflection.The morning will start with a tasting tour of our 24 acre farm to provide a sense of place and grounding into autumn. After, there will be three wellness classes for you to choose from over the course of two different sessions to support yourself in the best way possible. Upon registration, all classes will be on a first come, first serve basis. The two classes are meant to connect your mind, spirit and body into the equinox, the balance between light and dark. The event will conclude with guests dining on seasonal dishes artfully served in our hand carved wooden bento boxes. Ticket price includes the farm tour, your choice of two classes by Canyon Ranch instructors, bento box lunch with refreshments, as well as a gift bags with items from SingleThread and Canyon Ranch.     Following in the footsteps of the chefs and farmers who walk our fields weekly, discussing what is in season and finding inspiration for new dishes and new crops to explore, guests will be led on an edible journey through our farm. While tasting is always the focus of these experiences, our small group size is intended to allow for conversation and plenty of room for questions regarding farming practices and more.

    Fundamentals of Beekeeping

    Pollinators are essential to the ecology of our farm. In addition to the countless native pollinators that call our farm home, honeybees play a major role in the pollination of many of our crops. In Fundamentals of Beekeeping, workshop guests will learn about beekeeping equipment, colony biology and have an opportunity to get hands on during a hive inspection.
