North Loop Wine and Spirits - Halloween Special Class - Phylloxera

Join us at North Loop Wine & Spirits for our Halloween Special Class - Phylloxera! In this tasting, we’ll cover one of the most scariest, most horrific, most terrifying blights to ravage the history alcoholic beverages, Phylloxera! In the late 1800's, a little aphid, often referred to as “The Great Devastator," landed in Southern France and forever changed the world's winescape. It's a crazy story with so many plot changes with wild, wide-reaching ramifications that make this one of our favorite classes to host. It's good fun for history buffs and wine connoisseurs alike. In an interesting twist to the typical wine format, we’ll only be featuring red wines for this event. SPOOKY!

North Loop Wine & Spirits - WOW - Italy The B-Sides

This is Part Two of our Italian Wine Series. Here, we take a step away from the bright lights and international focus given to the Prosecco's, Barolo's, and Sangioveses and instead, turn our attention to the small productions of culturally important producers from overlooked regions which produce astonishingly delicious and sometimes highly idiosyncratic wines. This class really is where the rubber meets the road for Italian wine! The World Of Wine Series introduces 100 wines from 100 of the world’s most famous appellations. As with all of our events, we use wine as a way to connect dots; we draw lines between flavors, farming, culture, and beyond. It’s a way to sip wine and engage the world in ways that that can be sometimes hilarious, at times deadly serious, but most importantly, always intoxicatingly interesting. Our curiosity drives our research while our passion to share drives our classes. We hope you’ll drop in and join us for a few WOW classes as we make our way through this ambitious project. It might be a Herculean task to introduce the wines of this country in just one class we aim to do just that, in 7 glasses! For those of you looking to go even deeper, we are offering a companion class: Italy The B-sides on October 24th and we're are offering promotional pricing for those who want to attend both.
