Chef's Lounge was Founded by Todd Spanier in 2006 while running his company King of Mushrooms, selling foraged mushrooms to all the top chefs in the San Francisco bay area. He developed great friendships with all the chefs and created a space in his warehouse where Chefs and other likeminded people could meet for events. Those of you who are new to Chef's Lounge, we are a culinary community where chefs, restaurateurs, industry professionals and foodies gather to network and share ideas while enjoying a monthly feast prepared by our attendee's, everyone is asked to bring either wine or food.

    Mendocino Mushroom & Truffle Foraging Weekend Adventure in Anderson Valley Saturday Oct. 26 & 27

    Come embark on a captivating journey into the enchanting forests of majestic Mendocino Coast for a mushroom foraging and truffle escapade with Maria Finn and her truffle dog Marie Jane, who will lead a Truffle Foray. Saturday morning, Chef Neil Marquis will prepare a wild mushroom and truffle inspired brunch at 9am on your arrival at Indian Creek Inn located at 9050 Anderson Valley Hwy, Philo, CA 95466. Todd Spanier with over forty years of mushroom foraging in Mendocino county, will guide you at 10 am meeting up in front of the (The Madrones located at 9000 CA-128) and share his secret knowledge and passion for mushrooms and other foraged edibles. With keen eyes and gentle hands, you will pluck nature’s bounty, each find a testament to the intricate symbiotic dance of life within these coastal woods. "Black Gold" a presentation on the history of truffle cultivation followed by wine and truffle tasting at Brashley Winery. In the evening, Chef Neil Marquis will prepared four course truffle and mushroom feast dinner. (Menu: Assorted charcuterie and cheese - Morel mushrooms, wild boar, sautéed in truffle butter and deglazed with cognac on Crostini - Porcini Mushrooms, Potato and melted leek soup with lime oil, chive oil and crispy maitake mushrooms - Little gem salad with matsutake mushrooms, pomegranate, roasted butternut squash and a pomegranate champagne vinaigrette - morel mushroom and chicken white lasagna with a morel brandy sauce and shaved truffle - Candy Cap mushroom crème brûlée with assorted fresh berries.) Sunday morning awake to Chef Neil Marquis preparing a wild mushroom and truffle inspired brunch. Then off to the woods for a foray of mushrooms and other foraged wild edibles. We will end our adventure with a visit to a truffle orchard with Wine and truffle tasting followed by "Black Gold" a presentation on the history of truffle cultivation.
