Due to a long wait list we're adding one more night on Sept 23 6PMFew years in the making, Yakitoriguy x Hina Chef Tommy Omakase Yakitori is finally happening in San Francisco! About the event:Join us on this intimate and interactive 15 course Omakase dinner with Yakitori skewers and side dishes made from all the parts of a whole chicken. Additional vegetable, seafood dishes are also incorporated into the course. The skewers made from breaking down whole chickens will be grilled meticulously on imported Binchotan on the Yakitori grill. We’ll be grilling right in front of your seats so you can watch, hear, and smell everything that's going on the grill and I'll be explaining in detail every item being served. Like a cozy Izakaya in Japan this event will have intimate communal seating to encourage interactions among the diners and any questions about Yakitori which I'm happy to share to help you learn more about Yakitori dining. 14 seats available per seating. The seatings are available for 5pm and 7:30pm and the dinner should last about 2 hours. Located in the heart of Little Tokyo is my favorite outside patio at Far Bar. The patio is nestled in between historic Little Tokyo buildings and is accompanied by the extensive Japanese craft beer menu. Sipping beers here transports you to another world and Far Bar became my go to bar whenever I visited Little Tokyo. I've dreamed about doing Yakitori at this patio for a long time. And now 15 years since my first visit I am excited to share my Yakitori course along with a selection of Japanese drinks at the Far Bar patio.About the event:Join me and Yakigang on this intimate and interactive 16 course Yakitori Omakase dinner where I'll be grilling up skewers and side dishes made from all the parts of a whole chicken on Binchotan charcoal. Additional vegetable, seafood, or meat dishes may also incorporated into this chef's tasting course. I'll be grilling right in front of your seats so you can watch, hear, and smell everything that's going on the grill and I'll be explaining in detail every item being served. Like cozy Izakayas in Japan this event is limited seating of 10 seats to encourage interactions among the diners and any questions about Yakitori which I'm happy to share to help you learn more about Yakitori dining. You can watch how to make Yakitori from start to finish on the Yakitoriguy YouTube channel, but how about seeing it all live, participating in the skewering, and eating it all together at LA's premium Japanese knife shop!Join us on October 27th inside Japanese Knife Imports in Beverly Hills as we host our first LA Yakigang interactive Yakitori class. At this event, you will watch up close a whole chicken breakdown for Yakitori using a Japanese chicken breakdown knife and learn about the technique that goes into skewering and grilling Yakitori on Binchotan. Every attendee will be skewering their own Yakitori from various parts of the chicken which will then be finished by Yakitoriguy on the grill for you to eat. Every attendee will make and eat approximately 10+ skewers with Yakitoriguy’s 1-on-1 guidance every step of the way.The menu includes: -Sasami Tenders with Wasabi and Ume-Thigh Onion Negima w Tare-Tomato with Shiso Salt-Roppongi Style Hearts with Tare -Drumsticks Shishito -Dakimi Breast -Tebasaki Wing-Drummette Zucchini -Kawa Skin -Additional bonus skewers made from rare parts such as shoulders, neck, and the oysters-Yakionigiri Chicken Soup-Special cocktails provided by Nankai Shochu The event will be from Noon to 5:30PM. Sunday no restriction street parking available in the area.$150 per attendee. Limited to 20 attendees. We will provide all the necessary equipment needed for skewering and cooking. However if you want to bring an apron you can and we all will be outside during the grilling and eating portion so please bring a jacket. All skill levels encouraged to participate and the tips learned from this class will definitely help level up your Yakitori at home.
