We are thrilled to collaborate with Nyam Contemporary Kitchen for the next seating of the Azúcar Negra Supper Club, exploring African history and ingredients in Latin American cuisine. This unique gastronomic experience is hosted in a carefully curated private residence, where guests have the chance to embark on a culinary journey with a talented chef at the helm. FEATURED CHEFSChef Anthony Jones is an award-winning culinary talent whose journey began with a fascination with Iron Chef episodes. A Maryland native and Food Network 'Chopped' Champion, Chef Anthony was formally trained at Johnson & Wales before working in the nation's top kitchens, including as Executive Sous Chef at Marcus Samuelsson's Red Rooster Overtown in Miami, where he helped the restaurant earn a Michelin Bib Gourmand and was influenced by the fusion of African and Latin flavors. Recognized widely, Chef Anthony has been featured at prestigious events such as the Worlds of Flavor in Napa and the Diaspora Kitchen Tour in Cameroon, collaborating with acclaimed chefs Mashama Bailey and BJ Dennis. When Chef Anthony is not crafting the latest dish as Executive Chef of Dirty Habit in DC, he enjoys outdoor activities and cooking with his partner, Chef Max.Chef Max Chuvalas is a dynamic culinary artist with nearly two decades of experience, starting his journey in his home state of Indiana as a dishwasher before rising to Chef de Cuisine in high-end kitchens. Over the years, Chef Max has worked under the mentorship of renowned chefs, including Tristen Epps, Jeremy Ford, Troy Guard, Anthony Jones, and Marcus Samuelsson, contributing to Michelin stars, Bib Gourmand awards, and numerous regional accolades. Now focused on creating innovative, seasonal menus in the DMV area with his partner, Chef Anthony, Chef Max has reimagined Dirty Habit with a harmonious fusion of African and Latin diasporas. Known for his precision and fearless approach to culinary innovation, Chef Max continues to push boundaries and craft bold dishes that defy the ordinary.
